Our diversified model enables us to generate premiums from a range of brands and products, with differentiated routes to market, we reach customers however and whenever it suits them. They can choose to come direct, through a price comparison website or partnership.
We own 23 Motor Accident Repair Centres, the largest network of any insurer, delivering lower repair costs and providing data-led insights, which enable us to react to emerging trends and inform pricing.
The premiums we collect from customers are invested in a balanced and diversified investment portfolio designed to meet our long-term claims commitments while generating investment returns.

Our history
Direct Line Group was formed in 2012 by the divestment of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group’s (RBS) insurance division, through an initial public offering (IPO) and was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2014.
RBS acquired Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege and Green Flag in 2003 and in 2012 renamed its insurance business to Direct Line Group ahead of the IPO.
